ATTY. HONEY QUIÑO, INSPIRED BY ARNELL IN ACCEPTING THE POSITION AT 'OWWA'

ATTY. Mary Melanie "Honey" Quiño is known in the entertainment industry as a movie producer.

She owns AQ Prime and A & Q Production Films which already produced films directed by Joel Lamangan, "Nelia" and "Peyri Teyl", the latest film of the Superstar and National Artist Nora Aunor, "Ligalig" under the direction of Topel Lee and Loiue Ignacio's “Pura Serbidora”, which will be shown first at the international film festivals.

The film industry is far from the world of DA (Deputy Administrator) Honey is in today. If before she was facing court and shootings, now she is dealing with the migrant workers.

That's why many were surprised when she accepted the position of Deputy Administrator of OWWA where she will be joined by Arnell Ignacio, who is the new Administrator.

According to DA Honey, she was inspired by the achievements of Admin Arnell in OWWA. So, she decided to accept the position in the government.

The lady producer knows herself that she can handle the challenges of her work.

“Ever since naman ay hindi na bago ang adhikain ko na makatulong sa kapwa,” she said.

“Dati ang mga manggagawa ng movie industry ang tinulungan ko dahil wala na talagang gumagawa ng pelikula lalo na noong pandemic."

DA Honey added, "kaya nang lumabas ang appointment paper ko mula kay PBBM ay naisip ko na pagkakataon ko na ito na makatulong sa mas nakararami lalo na sa ating mga migranteng manggagawa.”
