ICE SEGUERRA IS 'SIMPLY THE BEST!', FULFILL DREAMS IN A SOLD-OUT ONE-NIGHT CONCERT

A week after Ice Seguerra's super successful 'Becoming Ice: The 35th Anniversary Concert' (last October 15) at The Theater at Solaire, but still talk-of-the-town.

It's a dream come true for the singer-songwriter and director to be with OPM icons like him, who are really idolized in the music industry, all agreed to be the guests at his very special sold-out concert.

Ice's soulful one-night concert began with a rendition of 'As If We Never Said Goodbye' (from Sunset Boulevard), which was fitting for his return to the concert stage after a decade.

At the beginning of inducing song...

"I don't know why I'm frightened.

"I know my way around here...

Eventually, Ice belted out towards the end of the song...

"I don't want to be alone that's all in the past. This world's waited long enough. I've come home at last!

"And this time will be bigger. And brighter than we knew it.

"So watch me fly, we all know I can do it...

"We'll have early morning madness. We'll have magic in the making.

"Yes, everything is as if we never said goodbye..."

Ice's first guest in his first major concert in ten years was his father in showbiz Bossing Vic Sotto, they did a duet on the touching song 'Somewhere Out There', which they sang when Aiza was still young.

Next set of songs was Ice's playful version of 'Part of Your World' and 'Home'. And following this, Concert King Martin Nievera came out, to do a duet on 'Sun and Moon' (from 'Miss Saigon'). Ice as Kim was comforting, and Martin even carried her, as she is really in character. And as expected, their rendition was well applauded.

As the concert goes on, Ice talked about what he went through, from being a child superstar to coming to the awkward stage.

Where he gradually lost his shine, until he came back again because of his megahit song 'Pagdating ng Panahon'.

Another tearful and emotional song he shared, which the audience really embraced was 'Minsan Ang Minahal Ay Ako.'

Ice's repertoire will not be complete, without his beloved versions of popular songs such as 'Aubrey', 'Longer', and 'Here, There and Everywhere', which are as good as listening to the purity of his voice, as if taking you back in the past.

After feeling sentimental, it's time to the lively song like 'Wannabe' (Spice Girls) with Juris, Princess Velasco and Sitti. Ice also sang with his generous heart in Whitney Houston's song 'I Will Always Love You' with the girls.

The Theater crowd was even more excited, with the appearance of Chito Miranda, singing pop songs with Ice, '214' (Rivermaya), 'Banal Na Aso, Santong Kabayo' (Yano), and 'Buloy' (Parokya Ni Edgar) were still very popular this now. They also made a rendition of 'Alapaap' by Eraserheads.

He also featured OPM songs he made famous, one after the other, with 'Pakisabi na Lang', 'Akala Mo', and 'Para Lang Sa 'Yo'

Ice next songs are back-to-back with 'Tres Marias' Cooky Chua (Color It Red) with 'Paglisan', Bayang Barrios' (Bagong Lumad) 'Isipin Mo Na Lang' and Lolita Carbon (Asin) with 'Himig ng Pag-ibig, the audience really sings along with the immortal love song.

Juris came back for the duet 'Di Lang Ikaw', a collaboration with Ice, which was loved and a hit too because many related to the painful song.

Followed by Joven Tan's award-winning song 'Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa', with the heartful rendition only Ice can provide.

One of Ice's most anticipated guests is Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, who is also more than three decades in the music industry. There was even a time when their hit song 'Pangako' and 'Pagdating ng Panahon' competed for the number 1 & 2 spot on FM stations.

Regine said, Aiza was an Icon in the showbiz industry when she was young, and now that he's Ice, he's still an Icon, which is true.

His dream of being able to sing Regine's song has come true, his version of 'Tanging Mahal' is really touching and a voice like an angel. Regine sang her famous 'Dadalhin' and they did a duet on 'Pangarap Ko Ang Ibigin Ka'.

Next he sang 'Sana Maulit Muli', one of the signature song of Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, who is really his super idol ever since and was even in a movie when he was young.

And since Gary has a US tour, he just sent a message and congratulated Ice on his 35th anniversary. Through the video, they danced their heart out with 'Hataw Na!'

Ice's last guests are the fabulous Drag Queens of Drag Race Philippines headed by the winner Precious Paula Nicole with Brigiding, Eve Le Queen, Turing and Vinas Deluxe. Ice directed the segment of 'Drag Race PH Untucked'.

They performed the songs associated with LGBTQI+ and fave lipsynch piece, 'I'm Am What I Am' and 'I Will Survived', the audience was furious and goes wild. One of the most applauded portion of the concert.

MOMMY CARING, JUANCHI, ICE & DADDY DICK

We were teary-eyed, which for sure brought many when he sang 'Moon River' for his late father, Daddy Dick, it was very touching, and Ice couldn't stop crying in the middle of the song, but he needs to finish it.

He shed tears one after the other because of 'Ugoy ng Duyan' for Mommy Caring with his brother Juanchi and 'Not While I'm Around' for his daughter, Amara.

LIZA DINO & AMARA

The song 'Araw Gabi' is for his wife, Liza Dino-Seguerra. He also sang 'Ikaw Pala 'Yon', composed by his wife as a wedding gift to him.

And as a second mother and part of the family, Ice also invited Sylvia Sanchez (who is also a co-producer of the concert) to come up to the concert stage. And it's shocking, because apart from her message she jammed with 'Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko."

SYLVIA SANCHEZ

Ice's closing song is of course 'Pagdating ng Panahon', followed by encore songs like 'This Is Me' and 'Both Sides Now'.

More than three hours are enough from the intense, soulful 'Becoming Ice' concert. And Ice Seguerra is... 'simply the best!'

And since it was super successful, the repeat is now in the planning stage. Hopefully, Ice can do live dancing with Mr. Pure Energy and an additional OPM Icons that also touched his heart and part of his career.

Congrats Direk Ice and the whole team headed by Liza, this concert was produced by Fire and Ice Media Productions, Inc. and Nathan Studios.

Cheers for more collaborations!
