JOSHUA, JEROME, MCCOY at NASH, aminadong napi-pressure sa primetime slot ng 'The Good Son'

TINAPOS talaga namin ang advance screening ng The Good Son na hatid ng Dreamscape Entertainment na mapapanood na sa Lunes, Setyembre 25 sa Primetime Bida ng ABS-CBN.

Puro papuri nga ang natanggap ng buong cast na pinangunahan ni Joshua Garcia na bukod sa napakagandang kuwento ay ang huhusay talaga nilang umarte.

Originally, intended pala ito sa Kapamilya Gold, pero napagdesisyunan ng management na ilagay sa primetime at ipalit sa A Love To Last na magtatapos na tonight, at base sa napanood namin, nararapat lang talaga na ilagay ito sa primetime ang The Good Son na mula sa sa direksiyon nina Andoy Ranay at Manny Palo.

Aminado naman ang mga baget na malaking pressure para sa kanila ang na nilagay nga sila sa primetime slot.

Tiyak na maraming makaka-relate sa kuwento ng dalawang pamilya na pagtatagpuin dahil sa isang masakit na pangyayari.

Nagsimula ang teleserye habang nagkukuwento si Victor Buenavidez (Albert Martinez) sa pinagdaanang buhay na agad na magtatapos sa kanyang ika-40 na kaarawan.

Pagkatapos ng surprise party, aalis siya ng bahay dahil gusto niyang makapag-isip-isip dahil matagal na silang hidwaan ng asawang si Olivia Gesmundo-Buenavidez (Eula Valdes), maririnig ng kanilang bunsong anak na si Calvin(Nash Aguas) ang kanilang pag-aaway na pilit pa nilang itatago.

Naghihintay naman ang kanyang ikalawang pamilya, na naghanda rin dahil nangako itong pupunta. 

Sa flashback, nakilala ni Victor si Racquel Reyes-Santiago (Mylene Dizon) na isang single mom at kasama ang amang si Matias (Ronnie Lazaro) nang nagpunta ito sa isang lugar sa Quezon. 

Dahil aksidente, nagkasakit si Victor kaya nagtagal siya sa lugar, nabighani at nahulog ang loob niya kay Racquel hanggang sa may mamagitan na kanila at si Joseph “Jopet” Reyes Buenavides (Joshua Garcia) nga ang naging anak nila.

Lumaki si Jopet na hindi kilala ang ama hanggang sa lumuwas ng Maynila dahil na rin gustong mag-aral ni Jopet at para makatulong sa pamilya, namasukan bilang kargador sa kumpanyang na pag-aari nang di nakikilalang ama.

Napakaliit nga ng mundo, dahil pinagtagpo ang mag-ama, na-curious si Victor nang malaman ang apelyido ni Jopet at inihatid ito sa bahay, kaya muli silang nagkita ni Racquel. 

Grabe ang eksena nang bumalik si Victor at inabutan sila ni Jopet na kayakap ang kanyang ina hanggang sa malaman niyang ito pala ang kanyang tunay na ama. 

Back to present time, bago namatay si Victor,  dinalaw ni Victor ang mag-ina ilang oras pagkatapos ng kanyang kaarawan, at nagkaroon pa sila ng maiksing bonding ng anak, nangako rin ito na babawi sa pagiging ama pero hindi na matutupad iyon dahil inatake ito sa puso habang nasa bahay nila.

Wala namang kaalam-alam na may kapatid sila sa labas ang magkapatid na Lorenzo (Jerome Ponce) at Calvin.

Sina Olivia at Atty. Anthony Santiago (John Estrada) lang ang nakakaalam tungkol sa mag-ina.

Nalaman ng magkakapatid nang mamatay ang ama, pinapunta ang mag-inang Racquel at Jopet para basahin ang last will and testament ng ama na ibinilin sa kapatid na abogado. 

Napakaganda ng eksena nina Mylene, Eula, Jerome, Nash, Josh, John at ang lola ng mga bata na si Liza Lorena habang magkakaharap sila sa mesa pagkatapos basahin ang huling testamento na iniwan ng namatay.

Kasama rin si McCoy de Leon bilang Obet, na kuya ni Jopet at anak ni Mylene sa ibang lalaki na muntik nang masagasan ni Albert noong maliit pa lang ito, na naging dahilan para sila'y magkakilala at magkaanak.

Nang lumabas ang autopsy, hindi lang atake sa puso ang dahilan, dahil lumabas na nalason ito sa kanyang ininom o kinain.

Kaya pagkatapos ng special screening, palaisipan kung sino ang pumatay at lahat ay puwedeng maging suspect. 

At sa mga susunod na episodes ng The Good Son, patindi nang patindi ang mga kaganapan, bukod sa mga nakakakilig na pag-iibigan ng apat na loveteam na ipi-feature sa newest primetime series ng Dreamscape Entertainment.

The film stars Oscar winner Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Danish Girl) in the lead role, under the direction of Roar Uthaug (The Wave), with Oscar-winner Graham King (The Departed) producing under his GK Films banner. Pinoy Artist's Tribute Poster for “mother!” Officially Selected by Paramount

IN conjunction with the release of its psychological thriller m o t h e r !, Paramount Pictures worked with Talenthouse, a leading open-source creative platform whose artists from around the world were invited to translate Darren Aronofsky's new film.

Each artist was given the audio from the first trailer as inspiration and the results are astounding. One of the 12 artists is Philippines' own Edz Gatula whose tribute poster for m o t h e r ! appears below.

Edz Gatdula is a talented artist who joined Talenthouse only a couple months ago and caught the Talenthouse and Paramount teams’ attention right away with beautiful, dynamic pieces. Edz’ work has gained instant popularity by other artists on Talenthouse, gathering lots of loves and comments commending his creations. Edz has been very grateful, humble and respectful amid all the attention.

Gatdula explains his process in creating his own m o t h e r ! poster: “As I saw the promotional poster of the movie, the first thing that came up in my mind is to use the ESSENCE of a classical art nouveau for my poster, but in a simpler form by having a limited color palette and flat shades, which I normally do in most of my artwork.”

Now playing in Philippine cinemas, the film revolves around Mother (Jennifer Lawrence) and Him (Javier Bardem) who live in a seemingly idyllic existence in a secluded paradise. But the couple’s relationship is tested when man (Ed Harris) and woman (Michelle Pfeiffer) arrive at their home uninvited. Answering that knock disrupts their tranquil existence and as more and more guests arrive, mother is forced to revisit everything she knows about love, devotion and sacrifice.

JOSHUA, pinalakpakan at nangibabaw ang kahusayan sa pag-arte

ANG husay husay ni Joshua Garcia sa The Good Son, na kung saan ipinapanood ang first three days sa special screening na ginanap sa Dolphy Theater.

Una kaming nagalingan kay Joshua sa Barcelona: A Love Untold na kung saan gumanap siya bilang anak ni Aiko Melendez na si Tonying.

Kasunod ang remarkable performance niya sa 2016 MMFF entry na Vince & Kath & James and recently sa blockbuster hit na Love You to the Stars and Back na muli niyang naka-partner si Julia Barretto, na kung saan pareho silang hinangaan sa pag-arte.

Dahil sa pangalang pina-ngangalagaan, pilit silang itinatago ni Victor mula sa mata ng mga tao, sa tulong ng tunay niyang asawang si Olivia (Eula Valdes) at mga anak nitong sina Enzo (Jerome Ponce) at Calvin (Nash Aguas).

Ngunit pilit silang pagtatagpuin ng tadhana dahil isang trahedya ang gugulantang sa kanilang lahat, mamamatay si Victor sa ika-40 nitong kaarawan.

Dito mag-uumpisang gumulo ang kanilang mga buhay dahil bukod sa mabubulgar na ang katauhan ng pangalawang pamilya ni Victor, kabilang sa mga suspek sa pagkamatay niya ang mga anak.

Sino nga kaya ang tunay na pumatay kay Victor? Ano na nga kaya ang kahahantungan ng kanyang mga naiwang pamilya?

Maipaglaban kaya ng apat na anak kung sino sa kanila ang tunay na “good son?”

ANO kaya ang sikreto ng business ng magkakapatid na Magdayao?

    “Oo, magaling sila. Si ate Sheila ang magaling mag-haircut, si ate Vina, I’m not so sure kung nag-aral din siya but you know gaya ng lahat ng nangyayari sa mundo ay nag-e-evolve and one thing na nakikita ko sa Ystilo ay nag-e-evolve siya,” pagkukuwento ni Shaina.

    Ang vision daw ng Ystilo ay, "to provide excellent customer service in every Filipino Community Worldwide.

    “And our mission is to be the leader in the salon industry by providing the trendiest and updated hairstyles, providing reasonably priced products and offer excellent customer.”

    Dagdag kuwento pa ni Shaina, “Yung mga senior hairstylist namin we bring them to Hongkong and other countries to attend seminars, trainings din.

    "Kasi ‘yung training centers din ng staff, we handle it mismo, pero ‘yung mga loyal staff namin from the very beginning, pinapadala namin kasi siyempre, iba ‘yung tips and tricks na nakukuha nila.

    “So, I guess more than running the business properly siguro ‘yung pag-aalaga nina ate Sheila at ate Vina sa mga empleyado namin kasi we have employees from the very beginning, nandoon na sila.”

    Sa kasalukuyan, uma­bot na sa 500 employees ang inaalagaan ng magkakapatid na Magdayao.
