SYLVIA, LABIS NA NAGPAPASALAMAT DAHIL PAREHO NA SILANG COVID-FREE NI PAPA ART

SAGLIT naming naka-usap ang premyadong aktres na si Sylvia Sanchez kagabi (April 17) sa pamamagitan ng FB messenger.

Maayos na ang kanyang pagsasalita at unti-unti na ngang nanunumbalik ang kanyang lakas at nakakatulog na rin ng maayos matapos na mag-negative sa COVID-19. Nakauwi na siya sa bahay nila sa White Plains noong April 15 after ma-confine sila ng asawa na si Papa Art Atayde sa Cardinal Santos Medical Center noong April 1 dahil nag-positive nga sila sa corona virus. 

At sa kanyang ngang Facebook post, “SALAMAT SA DIYOS! Nakauwi na po ako matapos mag-negative sa COVID19! Ang asawa ko po ay kailangan pang manatili ng 2-3 araw sa ospital para sa isa pang test. Maraming maraming salamat sa inyong mga dasal!”

Kuwento pa ni Ibyang sa 15 days niya sa ospital, hindi talaga siya natulog ng maayos dahil halos oras-oras na tsini-check ang kanilang kalagayan ng mga nurses at doctors, ang mga frontliners na kinikilalang mga bagong heroes na una na niyang pinasalamatan kahit naka-confine pa siya at lumalaban sa matinding karamdaman.   

Dagdag tsika pa ng brand ambassador ng Beautederm, nagmistulang playground daw ang kanyang braso, dahil palipat-lipat ang pagtusok sa kanya ng suwero dahil palaging namamaga at ngayon ay nararadaman pa rin niya ang matinding pagod sanhi ng kanyang pagkakasakit na muntik na niyang ikapahamak.

Binalita rin sa amin ni Sylvia na nag-negative na rin si Papa Art sa COVID-19 at sa araw na ito, April 18 ay lalabas na rin ito ng ospital, kaya naman labis labis ang kanilang pasasalamat sa Diyos at sa lahat ng nagdasal sa kanilang paggaling.

Next month, magsi-celebrate naman si Sylvia ng kanyang kaarawaan (May 19), at napakagandang advance birthday gift nga ang kanyang natanggap ngayon pareho na silang COVID-free ni Papa Art.

NOONG Huwebes, Abril 16, ang unang kaarawan ng anak nina Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera at Primetime King Dingdong Dantes na si Jose Sixto Dantes IV. 

At dahil sa ipinatupad na enhanced community quarantine sa bansa, isang simpleng selebrasyon lamang ang handog ng mag-asawa sa kanilang anak.

Para sa first birthday ni Baby Ziggy, nag-bake ng cake at gumawa ng ice cream si Marian gamit ang mga available ingredients sa kanilang kusina. 

Sa kanyang Instagram, binahagi rin ni Marian ang cute na cute na picture ni Sixto na tila’y masayang naglalaro sa kanilang bakuran.  “Ligo na tayo anak at kakantahan ka na namin ng Happy Birthday!” 

Bukod sa haircut, may handog namang heartfelt message si Dingdong kay baby Ziggy na nagpaiyak sa mga netizens maging ilang celebrities.

It is day 33 for us here on lockdown and day 365 for you on Earth. Normally, we would gather all our relatives and friends to celebrate this special day with you, just like how your mother and I had done it when we reached the same milestone. Though as toddlers, we never really remembered anything— thanks to the pictures that reminded us how we are loved by the people around us.

But today, it’s just going to be us, Buddy— You, me, your Mother, your Ate Z, Ate Cecile, Ate Glenda and Kuya Emerson. To be honest with you, i fear the day that you would be marching towards this new world, this new normal, that we had created for your generation. What’s happening now is a clear manifestation of our actions and inactions— and we are reaping its effects which could benefit a few, but for most...just hard learnings about humanity, the planet and spirituality. 

But i guess as parents, that’s what we are here for. We are here to prepare you for that jungle out there. Though there is fear, it is also you (and your sister) who give me courage to carry on and strive to make this world a sustainable place to live in. You give me the drive to make me want to be a better version of myself. 

And so, in as much as it should be you who should receive gifts, please know that you are the gift for us— a living reminder that we should get our acts together and ensure that when the time comes, you can freely walk the streets, breathe all the air that you want, play ball with your friends even at close distance, ride a bike, and return the hug to all your well-wishers today. 

This picture will always be my reminder that in times of fear and uncertainty, i had found hope—through you.

4th EDDYS Choice Cancelled

AMID the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic in the country and across the world, the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd) would like to announce the cancellation of its 4th Entertainment Editors’ Choice (EDDYS) movie awards, annually held in July. SPEEd President Ian Fariñas and the rest of the organization have agreed to focus resources in joining efforts to help marginalized groups and the brave and selfless frontliners during these trying times.

The beginning of the Luzon-wide community quarantine in March already saw SPEEd distributing food packs to frontliners in the areas of Marikina and Rizal, among them policemen and military personnel at check points, gasoline boys, bank security guards and grocery/convenience store staff. This month, the group has also made a donation to the Shields for Heroes PH, which continues to make Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for distribution to various hospitals in Metro Manila. 

As the crisis continues, SPEEd hopes to be able to extend a helping hand albeit in small ways to help alleviate the repercussions of this global pandemic, believing that the Philippines can win over the war against Covid-19 as a people united. 

May we also laud and thank the ever growing number of groups and members of the entertainment industry who are actively doing their share, be it by holding fund-raising concerts from their homes, making personal donations and writing songs of hope for Covid-19 patients, Covid-19 warriors and the general public who need spirits uplifted today more than ever.

Globe Studios via .giff teams up with local filmmakers and enthusiasts to raise funds for daily wage film workers

IN light of the extension of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in Luzon, the Philippine film industry along with many other local businesses continue to be impacted as normal operations and services are put on halt. 

Globe recognizes this pressing need and continues its efforts to help frontliners and daily wage earners who have been affected by these developments through a new unique collaborative effort with film artists. 

Globe Studios via .giff festival of new cinema has teamed up with Lockdown Cinema Club, a coalition of independent Filipino filmmakers who wish to reach and help their colleagues amid the COVID-19 pandemic, to raise funds for daily wage film industry workers in the country. Workers affected by the crisis include crew members, electricians, caretakers, camera men, artists, post-production assistants, and everyone who is vital in creating a film.  Majority of them are freelancers and are compensated on a per project basis.

To raise funds, directors, writers, producers, cinematographers, production designers, production managers, film editors and film students will showcase their best works online and for free via https://giff.ph/watch/. Film enthusiasts and audiences from all walks of life can visit the page to stream, enjoy their favorite films, and take part in raising funds through donations via GCash - all while staying connected, inspired and #SafeAtHome. 

As of April 7, the initiative has extended aid to over 1000 film workers. Through the combined efforts of .giff, Lockdown Cinema Club and local film aficionados, the goal is to raise P3,000,000 in the succeeding weeks of the extended ECQ.

ANG TOP EDM ARTIST NA SI JACE ROQUE AT ANG KANYANG ‘FOREVER’

UMAARIBA pa rin ang career ng top EDM artist na si Jace Roque.

Matapos ang tagumpay ng kanyang huling single na “Day and Night” (na umabot sa No. 8 sa iTunes Philippines at napasama sa iba’t-ibang Spotify playlists), nagbabalik si Jace sa pamamagitan ng bago niyang kanta na pinamagatang “Forever.”

Espesyal ang kantang ito kay Jace dahil ito ang kauna-unahan niyang Taglish single. Lahat ng mga nakaraan niyang single—kasama na ang “Day and Night,” “LOVE,” at “Sober”—ay nasa wikang Ingles. TIME out muna sa pagpapatawa ang Kapuso comedian na si Paolo Contis dahil sa Lenten special ng GMA siya ang gaganap bilang Pontio Pilato sa Jesus: His Life na matutunghayan ngayong Biyernes Santo, ika-pito nang gabi sa GMA.

Sa Lenten special kasi ng GMA Network na Jesus: His Life, si Martin ang magiging boses ng karakter ni Judas na isa sa 12 na disipulo ni Jesus Christ na kalauna’y nag-traydor sa kanya kapalit ng salapi. 

Imbes na kabahan sa mabigat na karakter na gagampanan, masaya ang aktor na isang makulay at interesting na karakter ang napunta sa kanya. 

“Suwerte ko na si Judas 'yung napunta sa akin kasi interesting ang character ni Judas kasi 'di ba sa pagkakaalam natin siya 'yung nag-traydor kay Jesus kapalit ng silver coins,”  sabi ni Martin.

Pictures’ follow up to the DC Super Hero’s first outing, 2017’s record-breaking “Wonder Woman,” which took in $822 million at the worldwide box office.  The film also stars Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as The Cheetah, Pedro Pascal as Max Lord, Robin Wright as Antiope, and Connie Nielsen as Hippolyta.

Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Gal Gadot and Stephen Jones are producing the film.  Rebecca Steel, Roven Oakley, Richard Suckle, Marianne Jenkins, Geoff Johns, Walter Hamada, Chantal Nong Vo and Wesley Coller are the executive producers.

Patty Jenkins directed from a screenplay she wrote with Geoff Johns & David Callaham, story by Jenkins & Johns, based on characters from DC.  Joining the director behind the scenes are several members of her “Wonder Woman” team, including director of photography Matthew Jensen, Oscar-nominated production designer Aline Bonetto (“Amélie”), and Oscar-winning costume designer Lindy Hemming (“Topsy-Turvy”).  Oscar-nominated editor Richard Pearson (“United 93”) is cutting the film.  The music is by Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer (“Dunkirk,” “The Lion King”).

LIBRENG PELIKULA SA IWANT, TRIPLE ANG ITINAAS NG VIEWS

PATOK ang regalong libreng 1,000 pelikula sa iWant ng ABS-CBN.  Triple ang itinaas ng panonood o views nito noong nakaraang linggo kung kailan nasa bahay lang mga tao sa Luzon dahil sa enhanced community quarantine.
